Alfajores
Alfajor is a traditional confection found in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, Paraguay and Southern Brazil. Alfajores are soft, delicate cookies made, surprisingly, with cornstarch. The cornstarch gives the dough a smooth, satiny texture and produces a tender, crumbly cookie. Creamy Dulce de Leche holds the cookies together.
